Chapter 1190: Afraid I’m a Bad Guy?
The man hurriedly apologized, pulling out a handkerchief to clean the stains off George. George frowned, stretched out his hand to block him, and turned towards the restroom."Miss Yates?" the staff was still urging her.
Scarlett hesitated for a few seconds, took out her phone and sent a text message to George. After sending the message, she followed the staff away.
The staff led her to the VIP lounge, and once inside, they walked further ahead until they stopped outside a VIP rest area.
"Miss Yates, the gentleman is inside." The staff completed their task and left.
Scarlett stood outside for a while, and a minute later, she reached out and gently knocked on the door.
As soon as she knocked, someone opened the door.
She stood outside and looked in, seeing an unfamiliar face.
A man with a plain appearance, probably in his thirties, with a piercing gaze and a somewhat stern expression, looked serious and unsmiling.
Scarlett quickly searched her mind, confirming she didn’t know this man.
With a serious expression, the man smiled at her unexpectedly, his demeanor seeming very amiable: "Miss Yates, hello, very glad to meet you."
"You are..." Scarlett smiled at the man, not entering immediately but instead scrutinizing him carefully, then said, "Sir, it seems we do not know each other, but someone said you were looking for me, and that you have the information I want to know the most. What is this about?"
The man smiled again: "I just had someone make a good pot of tea, shall we chat while drinking?"
After speaking, the man stepped aside and gestured for her to enter.
Scarlett looked at the mysterious man before her, didn’t accept his invitation, and remained standing still: "I wonder what the information you mentioned is, that I want to know the most?"
"Is Miss Yates uneasy, afraid I’m a bad person?"
"I..."
"Since Miss Yates is uneasy, then let’s end this." The man’s expression changed rapidly, from smiling one moment to suddenly cold-faced, he sneered at Scarlett, "I don’t force people, and since Miss Yates doesn’t trust me, there’s nothing more to discuss about your husband."
Having said that, he glanced down at his watch: "It’s getting late, I need to catch a flight, this is it, goodbye."
He said he was leaving, and actually started leaving.
As he passed by Scarlett, she reacted and called out to stop him: "Sir, wait, don’t leave yet."
He just said... he knows something about Matthew Saxon?
Regardless of whether this is true or not, Scarlett couldn’t just let him leave like that.
At this moment, all reason disappeared from her mind.
The urgency to know about Matthew Saxon’s whereabouts dictated all her rationality, she couldn’t think it through clearly and ran up to the man, blocking him and urgently saying, "Sir, do you really know his whereabouts?"
The man let out a cold snort, didn’t show her a friendly face, and said sternly: "You don’t trust me, even if I say I know, you will doubt it; Miss Yates, you’d better search on your own, I have matters to attend to, please step aside."
Scarlett bit her lip tightly.
No one would easily trust a stranger they just met, right?
Her distrust of him was entirely reasonable.
