Zombie Bodyguard

Chapter 1872 - 1869: Encountering the King Serpent Again

Chapter 1872 - 1869: Encountering the King Serpent Again

Xu Feibai had just finished speaking when there was a loud bang, the water surface suddenly exploded, countless water splashes flew up, the water vapor mixed with a fishy wind, a black shadow broke through the surface and stood before the two men. Neither of them moved, and the water splashes were like a torrential downpour, drenching them both.

When the splashes settled, the black shadow finally revealed its true appearance—a giant black snake raised its head, flicking its tongue, and looked down at Lin Tian and Xu Feibai.

The greater part of the snake’s body was still submerged, yet even so, the smaller portion of its head was taller than two Lin Tians standing upright.

"Black Water King Snake!" Xu Feibai’s pupils contracted, emitting a dangerous glint. He immediately recognized the snake’s species; indeed, seeing it was unexpected, but with longevity comes experience. At least, Lin Tian was seeing this snake for the first time and did not recognize it.

Last time after emerging from the Dragon-locking Well, Lin Tian spent time checking ancient texts for information about the Black Water King Snake. There was little recorded, but it was clear that the Black Water King Snake was not of this era but an ancient species.

The Black Water King Snake is a mutation of ancient giant pythons, with an even larger body, its physical strength unmatched. Lin Tian and Ning Luoxi are renowned for their physical combat prowess, yet the last encounter with the Black Water King Snake ended with them being chased.

More formidable is the Black Water King Snake’s scales, incredibly resilient, with modern machine guns not necessarily able to penetrate them. Furthermore, a snake’s vitality is extremely strong; an ordinary snake can still wriggle after being beheaded or disemboweled, not to mention the Black Water King Snake.

Lin Tian even pondered whether unless it was blown to smithereens, stabbing it a hundred times would still not affect its combat strength.

However, the Black Water King Snake did not attack upon meeting this time, instead held its head high, staring at Lin Tian and Xu Feibai, while the scales on its neck opened up slightly, trembling.

Evidently, Lin Tian and Xu Feibai’s aura also made the Black Water King Snake apprehensive; beasts have a natural sensitivity to danger.

"You knew we would encounter the Black Water King Snake all along," Xu Feibai glanced at Lin Tian impatiently.

"Whether known or not, it’s all the same; this is the necessary path, avoiding it isn’t possible. We already fought last time, without the Tang Blade Flowing Light, you can feel its combat strength on your own," Lin Tian remarked teasingly.

"Hmph!" Xu Feibai snorted, suddenly stepping on the ground, shooting out like an arrow from a bowstring towards the Black Water King Snake’s head.

Needless to say, zombies are all equally violent. Xu Feibai, a handsome man with an old-fashioned air, was equally fierce, throwing a punch at the snake’s head upon approaching the King Snake.

This giant snake resembles a heavily-armored knight, ordinary swords can’t breach its defense, only brute force can break it. Of course, the Tang Blade Flowing Light’s edge should penetrate the scales of the Black Water King Snake. Xu Feibai opted for bare-handed combat, clearly provoked by Lin Tian’s words.

Initially, both sides were in a standoff; now, Xu Feibai launched the first attack, infuriating the Black Water King Snake. While the snake was wary of the two, it wasn’t afraid.

Roar...

The King Snake emitted a roar akin to a wild beast, the surrounding waters surged, waves roiled, it slightly tilted its head back, then lunged at Xu Feibai.

The Black Water King Snake isn’t poisonous, but its sharp rows of teeth are frightening enough. Even a zombie body might not withstand direct confrontation. However, despite the formidable teeth and physical strength, due to its massive size, its agility naturally falls short of Xu Feibai’s.

Xu Feibai deftly twisted his body, evading a bite, then during the crossover moment, transformed an upward punch into a hammer strike, landing a fist on the King Snake’s head.

Aow...

The Black Water King Snake was hammered into the water, letting out a painful howl. Xu Feibai’s strength is enormous, a solid strike still doesn’t falter against the King Snake.

But before Xu Feibai could revel, a massive black shadow flashed by, and he felt as though his body had been hit by a train, uncontrollably flying back, crashing into the rock wall like a cannonball, creating a huge hole.

Back at the Shrine, this was exactly how he pinned Lin Tian against the wall; now, he experienced it firsthand. And Lin Tian clearly saw that it was the Black Water King Snake’s tail which sent Xu Feibai flying.

This move, "Divine Dragon Tail," truly brilliant, while the King Snake isn’t agile, it doesn’t mean its speed is slow, especially its attack speed, barely slower than Lin Tian or Xu Feibai.

Upon their encounter, each landed a hit, neither gaining the upper hand. Zombies and the King Snake both boast formidable physical prowess, so this strike didn’t rob either of their combat capability.

Roar!

Another loud roar, the roar laced with fury, the Black Water King Snake was enraged, its territory invaded by enemies, and repelled; it’s a blatant provocation, an unbearable humiliation for an ancient exotic species.

The water erupted, the waterfall reversed, the Black Water King Snake surged out from the water, its momentum monstrous and fierce! With most of its body rushing out, it opened wide to bite at Xu Feibai on the rock wall, faster than a moment ago.

But, Xu Feibai was not one to shy from battle; he was a zombie, a zombie never fears a fight!

He forcefully kicked the wall with both feet, the wall shattered on impact, he shot out like lightning, dodged the King Snake’s attack, then in mid-air twisted, remarkably landing atop the King Snake!

The Black Water King Snake’s scales are not only tough but incredibly slippery, making it challenging to stabilize oneself on its body. Xu Feibai opened his five fingers, nails instantaneously extended like eagle talons, clawed into the snake’s body, but only penetrated inches before he couldn’t dig any deeper.

A zombie’s nails are exceedingly sharp, incredibly durable, comparable to a treasured sword, yet could barely scratch the King Snake’s scales, showcasing their sturdiness.

The King Snake, feeling the pain, grew more irritable, its body twisted, aiming to crash into the rock wall, intending to crush the "little bug" on it into pulp. Given their size, Xu Feibai was indeed akin to a "bug" in its view.

Even if smashed against the wall, Xu Feibai wouldn’t die, but not dying doesn’t mean he must endure the beating. He exerted force with his five fingers, nails sliding across the snake’s body, carving out five wounds, crimson blood oozed from the wounds, dyeing Xu Feibai’s arm red.

He promptly released his grip, kicked off the snake’s body, leaping away before colliding with the wall, yet he leapt towards Lin Tian.

There was a rumble, the earth trembled, the rock wall disintegrated into a large section, debris scattered like shrapnel, dropping onto the water surface, stirring countless splashes.

Yet despite such chaos, dropping innumerable boulders, the deep pool remained bottomless, uncertain to what depth—perhaps only such a pool could harbor an existence like the Black Water King Snake.

This skirmish saw Xu Feibai gain a slight advantage, but those minor wounds meant little to the King Snake, apart from the initial sharp pain, the lasting impact akin to a mosquito bite.

After smashing the rock wall, the King Snake fell back into the deep pool. But, the Black Water King Snake clearly didn’t want to give Xu Feibai any respite; it surfaced again, charging towards Xu Feibai by the shore.

Lin Tian stood just behind Xu Feibai, and this charge from the Black Water King Snake encompassed Lin Tian in its attack range as well.
