Chapter 319: Capturing a Mutated Zombie Alive

A Speed of 3000, while still no match for Lin Xinghai’s current speed, was already terrifyingly fast.

After all, an average Mecha’s Speed was only around 1000. If one encountered this Hunter leader, it would probably run circles around them.

However, the Hunter leader, with its unparalleled speed and agile evasions, managed to charge through the series of explosions completely unscathed.

The sight secretly amazed Lin Xinghai. However, in dodging the explosions, the creature’s escape had slowed down slightly.

In that brief moment, Lin Xinghai closed the distance to 500 meters. The instant the creature entered his Perception range, he pulled the trigger of the Electromagnetic Railgun without hesitation.

BANG!

A blue light flashed by, but to Lin Xinghai’s surprise, the Hunter actually dodged it.

Lin Xinghai knew that sheer speed wasn’t enough to accomplish that. After all, no matter how fast the Hunter was, how could it possibly outpace a projectile from an Electromagnetic Railgun?

’It must have extremely strong Perception Power,’ he thought. ’It has to dodge the very instant I pull the trigger to have any chance of getting away.’

Of course, surprised as he was, Lin Xinghai didn’t pause for a second. With the first shot having missed, he continued to close in rapidly while firing two more Micro Missiles.

As the two explosions rang out, Lin Xinghai seized the moment the creature was dodging to fire again.

This time, the Hunter leader could no longer evade and was killed on the spot.

The moment he confirmed the hit, Lin Xinghai turned and left. There were still two Hunters that hadn’t been dealt with!

Since they had all scattered, Lin Xinghai’s pursuit of the Hunter leader had also put more distance between him and the other two.

By now, one of the two Hunters was already over two kilometers away, and the other was four kilometers from him.

After dealing with all the Mutated Zombies, he contacted the Military Department and had the artillery squad clear a path for him with cannon fire. He couldn’t be bothered to make another detour of several dozen kilometers to enter the sub-base from the other side.

As for Zhang Yue, after making the announcement, he led a group of military officers to greet the hero of the hour, Lin Xinghai.

They all knew that Lin Xinghai’s actions weren’t as simple as just eliminating five Hunters. More importantly, it was a powerful deterrent to any other Mutated Zombies.

A deterrent like this could potentially reduce the number of Zombie tide attacks on their sub-base.

Zhang Yue had already prepared a whole speech of congratulations and thanks in his mind. But as he drew closer and saw the still-moving Hunter, he froze on the spot.

After all, Hunters were also Mutated Zombies, and their corpses could be exchanged for a good number of Points. It was perfectly normal for Lin Xinghai to bring one back with him.

But he never would have imagined that this wasn’t a corpse, but a living Hunter.
