Saintess? Not Anymore! I'd Rather be a Destroyer

Chapter 391 - 328: Bow

Chapter 391 - 328: Bow

"How worse exactly?" Aurianna asked, raising an eyebrow, as her voice sounded as though she was teasing him.

"None of your concern," Peter snorted, folding his arms defensively.

"I doubt it’s anything that surprising. Or are you shy?" Aurianna’s lips curved into a smug grin.

"I’m not shy!!" Peter snapped, his face turning a deep shade of red.

"Alright then." Aurianna shrugged nonchalantly, the grin still tugging at her lips.

Peter exhaled through his nose, trying to calm down. "Also, I know you have a church. You probably want me to join you so you can see the future through my memories. But why me? There’s Sacred Gray and the Saintess of Time, Vivian. Unless someone has a higher level than you, you can’t read their memories." His voice was calm, but his eyes were sharp as he studied her.

"You’re quite sharp, Peter," Aurianna chuckled, her eyes narrowing with amusement.

"Well, I do come from a family of smart people after all," he said proudly, puffing his chest slightly.

"And I really hate, yet at the same time like, that time magic of yours."

Peter tilted his head. "So what do you plan to do after school?"

"It’s quite obvious, and I believe I’ve said it several times already," Aurianna replied flatly. "Getting rid of the Church of Beauty. I’m not stupid enough to think I can take them on alone. That’s why I created my church in the first place, gaining power, influence, and allies."

"A lot of people would die," Peter said quietly.

"Not my problem." Aurianna shrugged again, her eyes cold and distant.

"Haha, you’re quite the hassle, y’know. Over these eight months in school your mentality’s barely changed, but at least you’ve matured," Peter teased lightly.

"What do you mean by that!? I was always mature!!!" Aurianna yelled, glaring at him with her cheeks puffed slightly.

"Ahahahaha!" Peter laughed openly, clutching his stomach.

"Tch." Aurianna clicked her tongue and crossed her arms, looking away.

After a moment, Peter’s tone shifted. "Juvin will get that Ruin quest tomorrow. He’ll probably ask all of us to go."

"Ugh, I don’t want to go," Aurianna whined, slumping her shoulders dramatically.

"You will," Peter said simply.

"Hah?" Aurianna huffed, glaring at him again.

"At least when we enter the Ruin, just don’t let the enemy kill me, alright?" Peter said casually, though a faint smile lingered on his lips.

"And why would you say that?" Aurianna tilted her head, genuinely curious.

"Knowing you, I’m sure you’d let the weak members die so they are brought back through the Church of Light’s Second Life Pack. You’d complete the Ruin on your own," Peter said calmly.

"You’d only get in my way, though," Aurianna replied coldly.

"I doubt it, actually. I may be weak, but I’m sure I’d be helpful. Or..." He smirked. "Do you just not want me finding out some of your secrets?"

Aurianna narrowed her eyes. "I don’t trust you fully if you don’t have my mark. But I’ll consider your words. Though if I have to revive you many times, you’ll owe me."

"I doubt I have anything to give you that you don’t already have," Peter chuckled dryly.

"Time magic," Aurianna said plainly.

"That one’s off the table." Peter shook his head.

"Damn, so mean," Aurianna pouted, her tone half playful.

"I’ll think of something," Peter said, smiling faintly.

"Alright. Oh yeah, I almost forgot to give this to you," Aurianna said. A crystal-white bow appeared in her hand, its shined and also had engravings that reflected the faint light in the room. She walked up to Peter and handed it to him.

"A bow?" Peter asked, eyes widening slightly.

"I remember you using a bow, so this is for you," Aurianna said simply.

"Thank you, Aurianna," Peter replied, his smile this time genuine and warm.

"Hmph, you should be grateful! It was made out of a dragon scale!" Aurianna declared proudly.

"Let me guess, your sister’s scale?" Peter raised an eyebrow.

"How did you know?" Aurianna’s eyes widened in surprise.

"I just assumed. Your reaction gave it away," Peter chuckled.

"There’s a thin sword hidden in the bow as well. It can transform based on your preference," Aurianna added.

"Impressive," Peter said, examining the craftsmanship closely.

"I’m heading to bed," Aurianna said, turning away.

"Do you even need sleep?" Peter asked.

"Not really. I just like to sleep," Aurianna shrugged with a faint smirk.

"The others will probably come back later tonight. I’m sure they’ll eat at the funfair, that’s why I didn’t prepare much food," Peter said, stretching his arms.

"Yeah, better not to waste food," Aurianna replied softly.

Aurianna looked at him and asked curiously. "Why didn’t you go anyway?"

"As a prince, I get invited to too many parties. A funfair isn’t anything new," Peter said with a small sigh. "What about you?"

"I’d probably ruin their fun, so I chose to stay," Aurianna admitted calmly.

Peter chuckled and suddenly spread his arms wide.

"Why are your arms open like that?" Aurianna asked, blinking at him.

"Come on, a hug before you go?" Peter said with a teasing smile.

"Well, that’s weird," Aurianna frowned, taking a small step back.

"I realized I hug everyone else except you," Peter said with a half-smile.

"There’s no need," Aurianna muttered, looking away.

"Oh, come on, Aurianna," Peter said softly.

"...Maybe just this once," she whispered shyly, walking closer and wrapping her arms around him. Peter smiled, gently patting her head.

"See? It wasn’t so hard," he said, laughing quietly.

"Feels weird... but I guess it’s not bad," Aurianna murmured with a small pout. "Well, good night!" she said quickly before teleporting to her room in a flash of light.

Peter stood there for a moment, smiling faintly as he exhaled. "I wonder what shampoo she uses... it smells really nice," he mumbled, scratching his cheek as his face turned slightly red.

’I’m surprised she hugged me though. I assumed she’d refuse,’ Peter thought with a smile.

"I should probably get some rest as well," Peter stated picking up his bow and storing it in his ring.
