Chapter 454 - 453: I Never Expected You’d Be the Only One Left
Vivian Norris listened to Bella Acker’s words, and her hatred deepened.
"Bella, don’t be so smug. Men are no good; do you think that just because you’ve hooked up with Damian Sinclair, everything will be perfect for you? Let me tell you, a spoiled aristocrat like him isn’t truly interested in someone like you. One day, he’ll discard you like an old shoe, and you’ll end up just like me!" Vivian said, suddenly bursting into crazed laughter, as if she was already witnessing Bella’s tragic fate.
Bella frowned, but before she could reply, Vivian stopped laughing and continued, "Bella, I really didn’t see it coming. With that body of yours, flat in both the front and the back, you actually managed to get into Damian’s bed. You look like such an innocent girl; are you actually really wild in bed? Men, they’re all the same. As serious as they might seem outside, once they hit the bed, they all become beasts. How is Damian in bed? Is he fierce, does he make you feel good?"
The more Vivian spoke, the nastier her words became, and Bella didn’t want to listen any longer. "In the middle of the night, if you want to go crazy, find someone else to bother. Don’t call me again!"
"Who else can I call? Who else do I have? Everyone treats me like the plague now, who else dares to pick up my call? Hahaha, they’re all a bunch of heartless bastards!" Vivian cursed and shouted, her voice gradually taking on a sobbing tone, "I never thought that, in the end, you’d be the only one answering my call. How much of a failure am I!"
Bella originally intended to hang up the phone, but hearing Vivian cry while saying that made it hard for her to press the end call button.
It wasn’t out of sympathy; it was just the realization that hateful people also have pitiable aspects. After so many years in the entertainment industry, she couldn’t even make one genuine friend. Truly a failure.
Vivian just clung to the phone and cried, seemingly drinking something in gulps.
Bella frowned, "You call me drunkenly after drinking alcohol? I still have work to do, I don’t have time to entertain you." Saying that, she was about to hang up.
"Wait!" Vivian suddenly stopped her, "Bella, do you want to hear my story?"
"No." Bella was already too overwhelmed with her own things to have any time for someone else’s gossip.
But Vivian apparently ignored her refusal and started to tell her story anyway.
"I grew up eating food from different households, in simple terms, I was a beggar. At first, to avoid getting bullied, I deliberately smeared black charcoal on my face every day and put smelly dead rats in my pockets. I also wanted to grow up clean and proper, find a job, a husband who loved me, and have a cute child." Vivian paused for a moment before continuing, "But like that, every winter I was hungry and cold, and I almost froze to death a few times. Until a middle-aged man took me home, bathed me, dressed me in new clothes, and took me to eat all sorts of delicious foods, and all I had to do was sleep with him to enjoy a life I couldn’t have dreamed of before. Once I’d had a taste, there was a second, a third..."
Bella couldn’t help but interrupt, "You became an award-winning actress, appeared in so many TV dramas, surely with your status and wealth you have enough to sustain yourself, haven’t you ever thought of breaking away from those people?"
